Position: Research Analyst
Law Firm: Harris Beach PLLC
Location: Rochester, NY
Job Description: Reporting to the Chief Knowledge Officer, the Research Analyst will conduct legal, business and other non-legal research on behalf of attorneys, staff and clients.
Responsibilities:
- Performs comprehensive, sophisticated legal, business and other non-legal research and preliminary analysis in an innovative and timely manner for attorneys, clients and staff
- Independently analyzes and synthesizes information from diverse sources to solve problems creatively
- Provides educational instruction and support in legal research and information literacy
- Visits practice offices regularly to provide education instruction and promote efficient use of research tools
Qualifications:
- MLS or equivalent advanced degree required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in library environment preferred
- Demonstrated aptitude for research and analysis in order to identify relevant information
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Demonstrated attention to detail and curiosity to find relevant solutions
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Experience with a wide variety of electronic resources such as the Internet, Westlaw, and other standard law library applications
- Demonstrates effective professional verbal and written communication
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and SharePoint applications
- Military experience a plus
